Dear Patient, The New City Medical Centre, COVID-19 update from Monday 23rd March. We will be cancelling all routine, non-essential GP and Nursing appointments at the Practice. All GP and nursing appointments will be by telephone triage only & we will be enforcing a closed door policy. If you need to attend the Practice a member of the reception team will be on hand and they will enable you access to the building if you have a pre-booked appointment arranged by the GP or Nurse. If you are dropping off/collecting from the Practice, you will be met at the door for handover. Please be assured this is to help us protect our patients and staff to enable us to continue to support our population during this difficult time. If you need to order repeat prescriptions, please sign up to the NHS app and order online or via the telephone (between 9.30am and 5.30pm). All prescriptions will be sent electronically to your nominated Pharmacy or by post. Do not collect from the Practice. Please do not call the Practice unless you need to. Please use the online 111 tools to try to self-manage or your local Community Pharmacist. We thank you for your support during these challenging times.
The Government have now added loss of smell and taste to the recognised list of symptoms for Covid 19. If you have any symptoms you must self isolate for seven days and any family member must self isolate for 14 days. A test can be requested if you are showing symptoms in the first 5 days by visiting www.nhs.uk.
If you are asked to come into surgery for an appointment by a GP or Nurse we are asking if all patients could please ensure they wear a suitable face mask/covering. You may be asked to re-arrange your appointment if you arrive without a covering.
